Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic has invited the entire roster, including the two-way players, to Slovenia for 2026 season preparation.
Doncic offered to cover his teammates’ travel for a minicamp in August, joining him in Slovenia.
He has been in Europe since the offseason started, recovering from his hamstring injury and, more importantly, spending time with his two daughters.
The Lakers added Walker Kessler via trade and the signings of Quentin Grimes, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Collin Sexton, center Kevon Looney, forwards Zaire Williams and Matisse Thybulle, alongside former Mavericks teammate Jaden Hardy.

Apart from all of the signings and trade additions, the Lakers also have three new young players in the mix, with Cameron Carr being the team’s first-round pick, along with Aruther Kaluma and AK Okereke.
Doncic reacted with excitement to all of the Lakers’ moves, with reports immediately coming out about how happy the star was with the roster construction.
“Of course, there is upside to the new cast of characters. Walker Kessler is a 7-foot-2 young defensive anchor, Quentin Grimes has 3-and-D capabilities on the wing, Sandro Mamukelashvili is a bruising forward with outside range and Collin Sexton can provide instant offense off the bench and competes on the other end,” Dave McMenamin wrote.
“A source familiar with Luka Doncic’s thinking told ESPN he was ‘excited’ about the new players and “looking forward to getting to work with this group.”

Additionally, by most accounts, Doncic had an outsized role in terms of influencing the team’s decisions.
There were questions about Doncic’s willingness to sit through a Lakers’ retooling and whether the roster could be improved enough to keep him happy, but things seem good between him and the franchise.
Ultimately, wins and success will be the measuring stick for the team and player, but there is now a ton of good faith on Doncic’s end.
