On the brink of delivering a knockout blow, the Oklahoma City Thunder will face the Los Angeles Lakers without their MVP candidate once again. Luka Doncic has officially been ruled out for Game 4 with a hamstring strain.

That means the reigning NBA champions could be on their way to another series sweep. Doncic sustained the hamstring strain in OKC on Apr. 2. Since then, he's been out for over a month and has missed all 10 of Los Angeles' NBA playoff games. The Thunder looked like the better team again in a 131-108 Game 3 win over the Lakers. They have a 3-0 series lead.

It shouldn't be a shocker to see Doncic remain out. Talking to LA reporters back in OKC, the MVP candidate gently told fans that he likely won't pull a Superman and be back to help the Lakers pull off an all-time upset over the Thunder. Now, he's out for a funeral-vibe Game 4.

The Thunder should take care of business against the Lakers in Game 4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is due for a bounce-back game after a pedestrian first three games. There's no reason for Los Angeles to jeopardize Doncic's long-term health in an insurmountable 3-0 series count. This one is all but over.
