Despite losing in its first SEC Tournament game, LSU softball is heading back to the NCAA Tournament for the 14th consecutive postseason.

On Sunday, it was announced that the Tigers will host the Baton Rouge Regional as the 16-overall seed. The other teams in the regional include the Akron Zips, the South Alabama Jaguars, and the Virginia Tech Hokies.

The Regional will start on Friday and run through Sunday. First-pitch times and TV networks for each game will be announced at a later date.

LSU is hoping for more success in this year's tournament. The Tigers have failed to advance out of the regionals in three of the last four seasons, and have not been to the Women's College World Series since 2017.
