The month of June was loaded with recruiting action with official visits and commitments aplenty for the 2027 cycle.Here's a look at the seven teams who had the biggest months on the recruiting trail.
Notable Commitments:4-star WR Jamir Dean, 4-star OT Kennedee Jackson, 4-star QB Colton Nussmeier
Breakdown: This spring and summer has been a relatively quiet one for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs but they did pick up some significant recruiting wins in June to get their class closer to the top 10.
The month saw them land seven new commitments, including their quarterback of the future in 4-star Colton Nussmeier. On June 13, they flipped top 75 offensive tackle Kennedee Jackson away from rival Florida and also flipped Tennessee wide receiver Jamir Dean away from Penn State.
Notable Commitments: 4-star OT Kal-El Johnson, 4-star edge Success Nwabude, 4-star OT Joshua Sam-Epelle
Breakdown: Georgia's in-state rival in Atlanta had themselves a busy June. Georgia Tech entered the month with only three commitments and will leave June with 26 total pledges.
While many of those commitments are ranked by 247Sports as three-star prospects, their core trio are four-star pledges and play on the line. Edge Success Nwabude was the first of those commitments, announcing his decision on June 2.
Sam-Epelle followed on June 19 and Johnson was a later commitment, becoming their second four-star offensive tackle pledge on June 25.
Notable Commitments: 4-star OT Dominic Black, 4-star LB Sean Fox,4-star WR Tyler Fryman
Breakdown: Will Stein has come to Lexington and quickly put together a class that 247Sports ranks as the No. 20 class in the country so far. June was their best month so far.
While they only ended June with eight new commitments, three are four-star prospects. Black gives the Wildcats their highest-rated offensive line prospect in some time, while four-star quarterback Jake Nawrot has his receiver in Fryman and Fox gives the Wildcats their defensive anchor for the class.
Notable Commitments:5-star edge KJ Green, 5-star edge Chris Whitehead, 4-star RB Trey Martin, 4-star RB Tre Segarra
Breakdown: May might have been a quiet month for the Tigers but June certainly was not. LSU added 10 new commitments to a class that previously had just four entering the month.
On the edges they won big with two five-star commitments from Green and Whitehead. They also landed what Lane Kiffin likely hopes is his running back duo of the future in Martin and Segarra, who both committed just a day apart.
Notable Commitments:5-star IOL Albert Simien, 5-star edge Abraham Sesay, 4-star WR Julius Jones
Breakdown: In an already loaded class, Marcus Freeman didn't need to do much more to solidify the Fighting Irish's spot in the top 5 nationally. They just ended up loading up some more though.
While they only finished with five new commitments, two of those commitments were five-star prospects. Edge Abraham Sesay was the first of those pledges, committing to the Fighting Irish on June 16. They did miss out on five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson to Texas A&M but may have ended with an even bigger win landing Simien out of Louisiana over LSU and the Aggies.
A commitment from legacy receiver Julius Jones was another huge win for the Fighting Irish.
Notable Commitments:4-star OT Antonio Berry, 4-star DL Ben’Jarvius Shumaker, 4-star DL Mitchell Turner
Breakdown: To say that June was a weird but good month for the Rebels on the recruiting front would be an understatement. The multi-day saga revolving around Ben’Jarvius Shumaker stole headlines, but no other team did quite as well of landing elite line talent than the Rebels in June.
Between commitments from Antonio Berry and Mitchell Turner, Ole Miss landed two of the top 100 prospects in the latest USA TODAY Sports football composite rankings. In total, Ole Miss finished the month with commitments from six prospects ranked as four-star recruits.
Notable Commitments: 4-star S Kaleb Elkins, 4-star WR Trenton Yancey
Breakdown: June was a great month for the Boilermakers as they added 12 new commitments to their 2027 class. Most importantly, two of those 12 are ranked as four-star prospects by 247Sports and they landed them on back-to-back days.
Duncanville (TX) receiver Trenton Yancey was the first of those two commitments, announcing his decision on June 9. They didn't have to look far for the next as Warren Central (IN) safety Kaleb Elkins committed to the program on June 10.
