LSU football linebacker West Weeks has accepted an invitation to participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl, an All-Star game that showcases some of college football’s top talent and helps players prepare for the next level.
West, the older brother of Tigers’ linebackers Whit and Zach Weeks, played four seasons at LSU after transferring from Virginia. Across his 43 games played for the Tigers, he amassed 133 combined tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, and a forced fumble.
West opted out of the Tigers’ bowl game, an understandable decision given the litany of injuries he battled this season. The Shrine Bowl takes place on January 27, 2026, so he likely wants to spend as much time as possible recovering and preparing for the contest.
He doesn’t have the same lofty projections for the NFL Draft as his brother, Whit, but West has been a reliable cornerstone of the Tigers’ linebacker corps for years, bringing with it a pedigree that NFL teams are usually willing to take a chance on. He may not be selected on days one or two of the draft — or even taken at all — but don’t be surprised to see him making an impact somewhere in the future.
