LSU's depth in the secondary under first-year coach Lane Kiffin took a major hit over the weekend.

LouisianaSports.net's Matt Moscona reported on Tuesday that Tigers cornerback Aidan Anding suffered a torn Achilles during Saturday's scrimmage. Kiffin later revealed that the sophomore will miss the entire 2026 season with the injury.

Though Anding wasn't expected to start at LSU this season, it's still a big loss in a room that already had some depth concerns. Anding was reportedly running with the second team in spring, and he hauled in two interceptions during the scrimmage. He was injured while making the second pick.

Anding also seemingly addressed his injury with a cryptic Instagram post on Monday night.

A former top 250 recruit coming out of high school, the Ruston, Louisiana, native appeared in eight games as a true freshman last fall. All but one of his snaps came on special teams, and he notched two tackles on the campaign.
