LSU baseball faces South Carolina in a three-game set at Alex Box Stadium this weekend. Game 1 is scheduled for Friday night, but the weather forecast could complicate matters. If LSU is forced to adjust the schedule, the sides will play a Saturday doubleheader.

The starting rotation will look different this weekend. Last week, Friday starter Casan Evans was scratched from the lineup moments before his scheduled start at Mississippi State. LSU head coach Jay Johnson said Evans was fine, but Evans' availability for the South Carolina series remains up in the air.

Evans wasn't included in the starting rotation announced on Thursday. LSU will move William Schmidt into the Friday slot and give true freshman Marcos Paz the start on Saturday. LSU's Game 3 starter is to be determined. If Evans is available, that could be his turn. If not, LSU could give the ball to Zac Cowan.

LSU enters the weekend with a 25-21 overall record and a 6-12 mark in conference play. LSU was swept in its last three SEC series. South Carolina also ranks near the bottom of the SEC, finally giving LSU a reprieve from its brutal SEC schedule.
