The Louisville and Kentucky women's basketball teams are set to compete in the annual rivalry game on Dec. 9 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, UofL announced on Monday morning.
The Cards and Wildcats have played at Rupp Arena two other times over the last six years. Louisville won both times during a seven-game winning streak over the 'Cats. But UK has won the last two meetings and has the 36-24 all-time series lead.
Kentuckybeat Louisville, 72-62, at the KFC Yum! Center in a ranked matchup this past season. UK had four players with double-digit scoring efforts, led by Tonie Morgan's 19 points, while Cardinals guard Taj Roberts notched a game-high 22 points.
Both Louisville (29-8) and Kentucky (25-11) made Sweet 16 appearances in the NCAA Tournament this past year before falling to Michigan and Texas, respectively.
