The Triple Crown of Running, sponsored by The Courier Journal, kicked off March 7 with The Whiskey Row 5K. Considered one of the region’s premier running series, 2026 marks the 41st year for the Triple Crown of Running, which features three signature spring events.

The Whiskey Row 5K, the first of the three races, was held in downtown Louisville and starting on E. Market Street and took runners on a 3.1-mile course past the historic buildings of Whiskey Row before finishing with a post-race party outside of Louisville Slugger Field.

The Triple Crown of Running also consists of the Derby City 10K on Saturday, March 21 and The University of Louisville 10 Mile on Saturday, April 4. New for 2026, the series has added an 8K distance to race day on April 4, which also hosts the Louie's Dash, a fun run for kids.
