The Louisville Kings will leave Inter&Co Stadium on Saturday with a 19-9 loss to the Orlando Storm — and more questions for coach Chris Redman and his staff to answer if they want to notch their first United Football League win.

Here are three takeaways from the game:

Chandler Rogers could overtake Jason Bean as the Louisville Kings' QB1

Jason Bean got the start under center for the Kings on Saturday after going 14 for 27 for 226 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions during last week's season-opening loss to the Birmingham Stallions.

Redman gave him two drives — the first ending in a three and out, the second ending in a field goal — before turning to backup Chandler Rogers off the bench.

Rogers, a 6-foot California grad, proceeded to complete nine of his 13 first-half attempts for 116 yards. He also led the longest drive of the season to date — 73 yards in 11 plays, resulting in a field goal.

He wasn't perfect, missing a wide-open Tarik Black in the end zone on a backside read and instead overthrowing a covered Zach Davidson on a third down and 7 at the Storm's 23-yard line. But certainly sharper than Bean was Saturday.

"It didn't surprise me," Redman told ESPN when asked about Rogers' performance before heading into the locker room trailing 12-9. "He does it every day in practice. ... He just makes a lot of great decisions on the field." But, when asked if he would stick with Rogers the rest of the way, he said, "We're going to go talk about it."

Bean started the second half under center. But, after Louisville's first drive of the third quarter ended in a punt and its second ended in an overthrown pass on fourth and 1 at the Storm's 41-yard line, Rogers was handed the reins again.

Rogers finished 13 for 20 for 151 yards. He threw an interception that was nearly returned for a touchdown with less than five minutes remaining in regulation — setting up Orlando's third and final trip across the goal line of the night.

Bean completed only 4 of his 15 attempts for 49 yards.

With Louisville in the middle of a touchdown drought going back to the first quarter of last week's season opener, might Rogers get the starting nod when the Storm visit Lynn Family Stadium for an 8 p.m. kickoff April 10? One has to wonder how Saturday's game would have played out if Redman stuck with him to begin the second half.

The Louisville Kings' defense was stout but susceptible to big plays

After allowing the Stallions to convert 10 of their 16 third downs last week, the Kings' defense took a step forward Saturday in Orlando — holding the Storm to 4 for 14 on the money down.

Deantre Prince's fourth-quarter interception in the end zone of former UofL quarterback Jack Plummer embodied the bend-but-don't-break mentality the unit leaned on all night.

It wasn't immune to the big plays, however. Specially, Plummer connecting with KJ Hamler for a 41-yard touchdown on a third and 19 with 38 seconds remaining in the first half.

That gave the Storm a 12-9 lead that held until the five-minute mark of the fourth quarter. That's when Plummer hit Elijhah Badger for a 39-yard touchdown.

Where is the Louisville Kings' running game?

The Kings mustered only 27 yards on 13 rushing attempts Saturday.

This after they went for 46 on 16 attempts during Week 1 — and Redman fired offensive line coach Breno Giacomini afterward.

Simply put: Louisville is going to have to do a better job on the ground if it wants to compete in this league.
