Adrian Wooley will run it back for another season with Louisville basketball.

The 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, plans to return for Year 3 of the Pat Kelsey era, the program announced Saturday on X, formerly Twitter.

Wooley transferred from Kennesaw State to UofL as 247Sports.com's ninth-best player in the 2025 portal cycle. He was one of four Louisville players to appear in every game this past season, averaging 22.5 minutes per appearance (16 starts — typically, in relief of freshman point guard Mikel Brown Jr., who missed 14 games due to a back injury).

Wooley's final stat line: 8.7 points on 45% shooting (35% from 3), 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists (vs. 1.1 turnovers).

His best game: 21 points on 9-for-14 shooting (3 for 7 from 3), four rebounds and two assists across 28 minutes of a Dec. 30 win at California.

His biggest moment: 15 points, including a go-ahead stepback dagger with 18 seconds remaining in regulation, six assists and four rebounds across 28 minutes of a March 7 win at Miami.

"He's got a grit and a toughness and a competitiveness about him that I love," Kelsey told reporters before the season tipped off.

In January, reflecting on his decision to join the Cards, Wooley told The Courier Journal, "I feel like I could thrive here (and) try to be the best version of myself." In the locker room at KeyBank Center, after UofL's season-ending loss to Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament, he said, "I definitely will come back next year."

"Once I become a vocal leader, I'll be able to take my game to the next level," Wooley said in January. "However much time it takes, I'm willing to take (it)."

Wooley became the first scholarship player from Louisville's 2025-26 roster to formally announce plans to return for Year 3 of the Kelsey era. Mouhamed Camara, Sananda Fru, Kasean Pryor, Khani Rooths and Vangelis Zougris opted to enter the portal.

That leaves London Johnson, a former NBA G League guard who redshirted the remainder of the season after joining the team last December, as the only scholarship player who hasn't made a decision about the upcoming campaign.

At the time of Wooley's announcement, the Cards had secured three commitments via the portal: former Kansas big man Flory Bidunga, former Arkansas wing Karter Knox and former Oregon point guard Jackson Shelstad.

The portal closes at midnight Wednesday, April 22. That's an entry window; players can take their time finding a new home once they've hit the market.

Players who have entered the portal can withdraw their names, but programs are not obligated to hold scholarships/roster spots.
