Social media influencer and WWE pro wrestler Logan Paul has been in the news lately for his interactions with NFL superstars, and that continued on Friday as videos surfaced from some of his interactions at the Flag Football Classic this weekend in Los Angeles.
Paul managed to make both a good and a bad impression in flag football action against NFL stars. He snagged a nice-looking interception off the Bengals' starting quarterback and former Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow in a play that went viral. However, he was also subject to some embarrassment as he was caught on video biting heavily on a juke move from Saquon Barkley while trying to cover him.
Paul was also the center of some controversy at the press conference for the event the day before, when he got into a confrontation with Rob Gronkowski that Kevin Hart had to break up. He was also subject to some slight shade from legendary quarterback Tom Brady, who founded the event, who called Logan Paul out for ducking a planned fight with Le'Veon Bell.
The potential fight with Bell and then the subsequent withdrawal by Paul follows a recent online feud between Paul and Brady, along with other current and former NFL stars, stoked by the perceived difference in difficulties between scripted pro wrestling and a sport like football, and whether or not Paul could hold his own against professional football players.
The feud could be a PR stunt for the Flag Football Classic, or it could be a larger part of a pro wrestling storyline that sees Brady or other former NFL stars follow the example of previous pro football players who stepped into the squared circle, such as Lawrence Taylor, Steve McMichael, and Pacman Jones. But who knows? There may be some real bad blood between Paul and these NFL stars.
