We have ourselves a trade between AL West rivals! The Los Angeles Angels -- who are clearly sellers as the 2026 MLB trade deadline approaches next week -- sent catcher Logan O'Hoppe and RHP Chase Silseth to the Texas Rangers for minor leaguer Angel Arredondo.

Did the Angels get a ton back for a reliever having a terrific season and a catcher who once had a 20-homer season? Not really. But maybe they weren't going to get a ton back anyway.

As always, let's hand out some trade grades for each side of this one, with the details of each side of this deal:

Rangers and Angels trade details

Rangers get: C Logan O'Hoppe, RHP Chase Silseth

Angels get: Minor league INF Angel Arredondo

Rangers trade grade

This is fairly simple: They didn't give up a top-20 prospect and got back a catcher who could use a change of scenery and a relief pitcher who has nearly 40 innings and 2.72 ERA. That's a great trade! No complaints here. I don't see any downside here unless Arredondo turns out to be a star. GRADE: A-

Angels trade grade

O'Hoppe wasn't going to get a huge return despite hitting 39 home runs combined in the two seasons before slamming just four dingers this season. Middle relievers -- even ones having seasons like Silseth -- don't get much back either. Meh! GRADE: B-
