OMAHA — National Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Bob Pierce is recovering after suffering a stroke on Wednesday.
Pierce, who works with son Bobby Pierce, suffered the stroke in his motorhome and thanks to quick response, he was brought to University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. After emergency surgery, he will spend the weekend at the facility before undergoing a procedure to have a stent placed to prevent future episodes on Monday. If all goes well, he can be released on Tuesday.
Bobby Pierce will be racing at the Silver Dollar Nationals this weekend, which is only an hour away in Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa.

Junior Gold 3, Watseka 2
TILTON — The Post 210 Junior Gold Speakers were able to get just enough to get the win over Watseka in the Fourth Division Juniors Tournament.
Weston Church drive in two runs for the Junior Golf, while Dayton Dubois put the Junior Gold up for good with an RBI single in the bottom of the second.
Leighton Miethe had six strikeouts and gave up only two hits for the Junior Gold, who will continue tournament play today.

Speakers Elite lose twice to Crush
The Post 21o Speakers Elite lost two games in a row for the first time all season as they lost to the Indy Crush 4-1 and 5-4.
In the first game, Kendall Rannebarger had the lone RBI in the sixth, but were already down 4-0 to the Crush. In the second game, the Speakers Elite had a 3-0 lead before the Crush scored four runs in the bottom of the second. Rannebarger had two hits and two RBIs, Lani Gondzur and Alexa Jamison each had one RBI and Macy Warner had two hits.
The Speakers Elite beat the Crush 5-3 on Thursday as Rannebarger had three hits and two RBIs, Jamison had two hits and an RBI and Lily Kiesel and Ella Acton each had one RBI.
