Junior guard Lulu Twidale scored 32 points to pass the 1,000-point mark for her career and Gisella Maul added 20 points and a game-high 11 rebounds as Cal defeated host Pittsburgh 95-80 on Sunday.
Twidale became the fifth player in Cal history to record two 30-point games in a season. She was 7-for-11 from 3-point range and had seven assists.
Sakima Walker scored 18 points and Mjracle Sheppard had 14 points and eight assists for Cal, which was coming off a win at Georgia Tech.
The Bears (15-10, 6-6 ACC) jumped to a 54-32 halftime lead and kept a double-digit edge throughout the second half against the Panthers (8-17, 1-11) while winning for the fifth time in six games.
"I thought we came out with the right mindset, and were really good in the first half," Cal coach Charmin Smith said. "Obviously, we made shots offensively and we were locked in defensively and did a really good job. We struggled to keep that momentum in the second half, but we're on the road in ACC play, so I'm happy that we got a sweep, and this helps us have momentum. … These were games that we had to win, so we took care of business."
Theresa Hagans' 19 points led the Pittsburgh.
Georgia Tech 74, Stanford 52: In Atlanta, freshman Lara Samfai scored a season-high 19 points and Hailee Swain added 10, but the Cardinal (16-9, 5-7 ACC) were held to 33% shooting in a loss to the Yellow Jackets (11-14, 6-7).
Stanford trailed by six after the first quarter, then saw its deficit grow to 15 at halftime after being held to seven points in the second quarter. The Cardinal closed to within 45-39 in the third quarter only to see Georgia Tech close the period with a 10-2 run.
Stanford was scoreless for a nearly six-minute stretch in the second quarter, had a four-minute drought in the third quarter and was blanked in the final 4:32 as Georgia Tech closed with a 7-0 run.
The Yellow Jackets also won the rebound battle 42-39 and outscored the Cardinal in the paint 30-20.
"Stanford's tough, they've got a lot of length, there's a lot of height on that team," Georgia Tech coach Karen Blair said. "So to outrebound that team … our team was disciplined. We were disciplined with the boxouts when we needed to."
