Luke Chambers has become a loan target for multiple clubs following an impressive showing for Liverpool during their preseason campaign.

The defender started the final two matches of the recent United States tour against Wrexham and Leeds United, after appearing as a substitute in the opening friendly versus Sunderland in Nashville.

Though primarily a left-back, the 22-year-old was deployed at center-back due to Liverpool's shortage of options in that position, and found the net in the 4-2 defeat to Leeds in Chicago.

Chambers spent the latter half of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic, where he featured regularly in helping the Addicks secure their EFL Championship status.

His displays throughout the year have generated interest in a temporary transfer from prospective suitors in the Championship, including Queens Park Rangers, along with at least one overseas club, as per the Liverpool Echo.

A determination regarding the England Under-20 international's immediate future is expected to be made later in the transfer window, with Chambers anticipated to sign a contract extension at Liverpool before any loan deal is finalized.

His showings in the U.S. drew praise from new Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola, particularly a 76-minute outing against Wrexham, after which Iraola said: "Luke Chambers played there, he is not a centre-back, but he played really, really well."

The player had earlier spent time on loan in Scotland with Kilmarnock before completing two temporary stints at League One club Wigan Athletic.
