CLEVELAND — The Guardians came up with one of their better comeback wins of 2026 with rookie All-Star Travis Bazzana providing the perfect ending.
Bazzana blasted a walk-off home run as the Guardians rallied from a three-run deficit to beat the Pirates 5-3 in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday, July 18. Pittsburgh won the first game and looked poised for the sweep when it took a 3-0 lead into the eighth inning of Game 2.
The Guardians offense had been virtually dormant in the doubleheader, which came about after Friday's series opener was postponed due to air quality concerns.
Then three runs by the Guardians in the eighth tied the game and set the stage for Bazzana's heroics.
The former No. 1 overall pick hit his first walk-off home run to break the 3-3 tie in the ninth, blasting a two-run-shot to center field.
