As part of its Sunday move to place quarterback Teddy Bridgewater on the reserve/retired list, Detroit also waived tight end Nick Muse and signed a pair of defenders.

The Lions signed cornerback Ryan Cooper Jr. and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga.

Ogbongbemiga, an Oklahoma State alum, originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers. In three seasons with the Chargers, Ogbongbemiga played in 47 games and started a pair. Then, the 6-foot, 231-pound linebacker signed with the Chicago Bears ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

Ogbongbemiga would play in 25 games and started one contest with the Bears across the 2024 and 2025 NFL seasons. Ogbongbemiga was released by the Bears in February. In his five-year NFL career, Ogbongbemiga has totaled 66 tackles (33 solo), three tackles for loss, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and one pass defended.

Cooper spent this past spring in the UFL with the Birmingham Stallions, registering 25 tackles, four pass breakups, one tackle for loss and one interception.
