The Detroit Lions added another fresh draftee to the offensive line, selecting LSU's Miles Frazier on Day 3. The Lions traded up to No. 171 overall to snag the Tigers' right guard.

Frazier is the third collegiate right guard the Lions have selected in the last two drafts, joining Christian Mahogany from last year and Tate Ratledge from the second round of 2025. It creates an interesting logjam at the one vacant starting spot on the Detroit offense, created when Kevin Zeitler left for the Titans in free agency.

Mahogany played well enough in his brief rookie audition to believe he can emerge as the starter in 2025. He largely passed that initial test while filling in at left guard in Week 16 and the team's playoff loss to the Commanders, however. Meanwhile, Ratledge played all but four of his nearly 2,100 college snaps at right guard.

Frazier has the most experience playing other spots. He was a left tackle in his two seasons at Florida International and a full-time starter at LT in 2021 before transferring to LSU. The 6-foot-5, 325-pound Frazier spent most of the 2022 season playing left guard, though he did also play right guard and even a handful of left tackle snaps that first year in Baton Rouge. The last two years were exclusively on the right side, with over 1,600 snaps at guard and playing LSU's bowl game at right tackle.

None have ever played center. Incumbent starting left guard Graham Glasgow has considerable experience at center and served as Frank Ragnow's primary backup over the last two Lions seasons. Glasgow's play down the stretch in 2024 leaves him vulnerable to losing his starting LG spot, which would make him a natural top interior reserve.

It's something to watch when the Lions start their team activities. OL coach Hank Fraley has some sorting out to do, with players like Kayode Awosika, Colby Sorsdal and Kingsley Eguakun also fighting to be in the mix.
