Lionel Messi remains one of the biggest soccer superstars in the world.
Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi recently turned 39 years old, but he continues to be one of the top names in the world of soccer.
Moreover, he’s still the key player for an Argentina team featuring the likes of Julian Alvarez, Nico Paz, and more. Other than that, Messi remains one of the biggest, if not the biggest, draws for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lionel Messi and Argentina’s Round of 32 matchup cracks the top 16 most expensive tickets
The 2026 World Cup features immense star power with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in the primes of their respective careers.
Additionally, legends like Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. are still active for their national teams in this World Cup. However, according to TicketData founder, only Argentina’s Round of 32 matchup has cracked the top 16 on the list of most expensive tickets in the knockouts.
According to the graphic, Argentina’s Round of 32 fixture’s get-in price is $3,292, which will be held in Miami. This shows that even at 39 years old, Messi is still a global star.
Lionel Messi is off to a dream start at the 2026 World Cup
Many may assume that at this point in his career, Messi may be reduced to someone who is in Argentina’s team just to drive in the audience.
However, that’s far from the case as Messi isn’t just an integral part of the current Argentina team, but he’s carrying the team on his back.
How? Well, the 8x Ballon D’Or winner already has five goals to his name in two group stage matchups as he leads the Golden Boot race.
What’s even more surprising is the fact that no player other than Messi has scored even a single goal for Argentina, as he has netted all five goals by himself.
This probably explains why fans are still lining up and ready to pay upwards of $3200 to see the little magician play in the knockout stages.
