  • Vonn reflected on her emotional recovery journey, including months in a wheelchair and learning to walk again, while speaking with PEOPLE at the 2026 ESPYS

Lindsey Vonn is bringing the heat this summer.

The Olympic skier, 41, is seemingly doing anything but relaxing during a seaside vacation in photos she shared in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

“Been on the move… ☀️,” Vonn captioned her post.

In one shot, Vonn wore a red, triangle-cut bikini top with coordinating bottoms for a stand-up paddleboarding session. She was all smiles with her blonde hair pulled back in a bun while standing on the board with her paddle in hand.

In another shot, the three-time Olympic medalist — who has one gold and two bronze medals to her name — threw up a peace sign while posing on the beach, clad in a black bikini and a life jacket, with a row of paddleboards lined up behind her.

Vonn also snapped a photo of herself riding what appears to be a red motorbike down a tropical city street aglow at night. The following slide was a close-up selfie in workout clothes, wearing a Red Bull hat and a white Under Armour tank top.

The Olympic gold medalist’s vacation comes a few weeks after she told PEOPLE at the 2026 ESPYS that her ankle is “still broken” from her crash at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

“It’s been a very slow process,” she said on the ESPYS red carpet on Wednesday, July 15. “It’s been five months since I’ve been able to actually go to the gym in a somewhat meaningful way. And walking is actually still really hard for me. My ankle is still broken.”

Vonn’s accident took place 13 seconds into her run in the women’s downhill final on Feb. 8, after she lost control and flipped through the air.

She was quickly placed on a stability board and airlifted by helicopter to a hospital, where doctors determined she suffered a complex tibia fracture.

Just a week before her crash, Vonn had “completely ruptured” her ACL while competing in a World Cup race.

Now, she is grateful to be standing once again.

“I was in a wheelchair for so long, I was on crutches for so long,” Vonn told PEOPLE at the ESPYS. “It was honestly almost three and a half months that I was unable to walk unassisted. I got very emotional when I was able to walk on my own.”
