Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. continues to impress during offseason programs.
And as good as Thomas has been throughout the last several weeks of practices, John Shipley of Jaguars on SI wrote that Wednesday's minicamp practice was his best yet.
Not only is Thomas winning his downfield matchups, but Shipley notes he was able to impact other areas of the field as well.
"He looks terrific right now," Shipley wrote.
And as Thomas continues to make these plays on the practice field, head coach Liam Coen can see his confidence growing.
"Huge for the confidence," Coen said after Wednesday's practice. "It's hard to not hear everything, right? And also for himself I know there was standards in which he wanted to improve upon and so the fact that he's just come out here and worked his ass off having a great attitude like after every play, communication with either myself or Trevor or EB or Grant whatever it is and then making the plays like that is something you cannot simulate in routes on air, you cannot simulate that type of confidence until you do it in practice.
"Like it's just there's nobody that I've known as a player that just can only turn it on in a game. Like the whole gamer thing, I don't fully believe in that. I believe in guys elevate their play to go play in a game. Absolutely. But the confidence of the connection and chemistry that they're building, that's real."
Following a down 2025 season, Thomas returning to form would do wonders for the Jaguars' offense. Besides the added production he would bring and the big play potential, his presence can garner the attention of opposing defenders, helping to create opportunities for other Jaguars' pass-catchers.
A priority for both Thomas and Trevor Lawrence this offseason has been on continuing to grow their chemistry, particularly on downfield throws. And while it's early, it all seems to be working.
