Lewis Hamilton gave Kim Kardashian the public shoutout fans were waiting for after a cheeky question at Silverstone put his personal life directly into the British Grand Prix spotlight.
The Ferrari driver was speaking onstage at a fan event ahead of the race weekend when broadcaster David Croft said Hamilton looked happier “on the track and off the track” this year, according to People. Another driver then pushed the joke further by asking whether that was because of a fast car or a new girlfriend.
Hamilton first turned the answer toward Ferrari, praising the team after what he described as a tough first year. Then he circled back to Kardashian with the line that made the clip spread: “And of course, of course, it’s Kim.”
Hamilton was back at Silverstone for his home British Grand Prix, Kardashian had recently supported him at Monaco, and the public exchange gave the couple another visible F1-world moment.
Hamilton Gave Kardashian a Public Shoutout at Silverstone
Hamilton did not open with Kardashian when the question came up. He first talked about Ferrari, calling the team iconic and saying the group had been welcoming as they worked through a difficult period, according to People. After explaining how the team’s work was starting to move things in the right direction, he added the short Kardashian line and drew another reaction from the crowd.
Page Six framed the exchange around Hamilton being a “happier man” ahead of the British Grand Prix, while News.com.au also highlighted the video moment as Hamilton crediting Kardashian with making him happier.
The Joke Also Brought Back Kardashian’s Monaco Towel Moment
Croft added another layer to the exchange by joking about whether Kimi Antonelli needed two towels. People reported that the line referred to Kardashian accidentally using a towel reserved for Antonelli during the Monaco Grand Prix podium celebration.
Kardashian’s Monaco appearance had already connected her to Hamilton’s F1 world in a public way. She attended the race with Khloé Kardashian, watched Hamilton finish second and was later seen as Hamilton blew a kiss from the podium.
Kardashian’s F1 Support Has Been Part of the Coverage
Hamilton spoke about Kardashian’s support after Monaco. People quoted him saying it was “amazing” to have her there and that having good people around him was important.
GPFans reported that Kardashian was at the bottom of the podium filming Hamilton after the race, and that Hamilton was seen blowing a kiss toward her during the celebration. People reported that the couple first sparked dating rumors in early February, and that a source later described their dynamic as easy because they knew each other before being romantically linked.
Hamilton’s Silverstone Weekend Started Fast
The racing context gave the celebrity moment more weight. Reuters reported that Hamilton went fastest in the sole practice session for the British Grand Prix on Friday, July 3, with a best lap of 1:29.260.
Reuters also noted that Hamilton has won a record nine times at Silverstone and that another victory there would mark Ferrari’s 250th Formula One win. Later Friday, Hamilton took pole for the Silverstone sprint with a 1:28.376 lap, edging Kimi Antonelli by 0.011 seconds.
