Betfred Super League
Leigh (20) 21
Tries: Charnley 2, Senior, Horne Goals: Cook 2 Drop-goal: O'Brien
Toulouse (6) 20
Tries: Tropis, Laguerre 2 Goals: Shorrocks 4
Gareth O'Brien kicked a winning drop-goal as Leigh Leopards defeated Toulouse in Super League's first golden-point game of the season.
It was a big relief for the Leopards as they ended a four-match losing streak - and having given up a 20-0 lead to be taken into overtime.
Two tries from Josh Charnley and one each from Innes Senior and Liam Horne in little more than 30 minutes looked to have wrapped up the victory.
But a score from Romeo Tropis and two tries from winger Benjamin Laguerre narrowed the gap to just two points.
And when Leigh were penalised on the last play of the game, Jake Shorrocks kicked a 30-metre goal to bring the score level.
But thanks to O'Brien's boot, the home side climbed one place to 12th, while the French newcomers, remain 10th after a fourth loss on the spin, on the same number of points as Leigh but with a superior points difference.
More to follow.
