Shockingly, Wisconsin Badgers women's hockey coach Mark Johnson has been passed up as the highest paid in the NCAA.

When it comes to collegiate women's hockey coaches, one would expect the all-time winningest coach to be the highest paid.

Even though Johnson has defeated Ohio State's Nadine Muzerall in the last two National Championship games, the Buckeyes recently inked a new deal with Muzerall, one that tops Johnson's salary with the Badgers.

According to BadgerExtra, Johnson's salary for 2025-26 was $550,000 while Muzerall made $555,000.

While $5K doesn't seem like a lot, it's crazy to think Muzerall surpassed Johnson even though she's been outplayed the last two seasons.

Todd Milewski noted the 2025-26 salaries aren't the end of the world though as Johnson's extension includes an annual $25,000 raise. Knowing that, he'll make $575,000 come July 1 while Muzerall sees no movement in her pay.
