MILFORD - The Ledyard/Waterford/St. Bernard gymnastics co-op won the Class M championship for the second year in a row Saturday at Jonathan Law High School.

Despite being shorthanded with just five athletes, Ledyard/Waterford/St. Bernard won the title with a score of 144.25. Farmington was second at 136.525 and Ellington/Tolland took third (134.05).

"Our team is really strong," said Ledyard/Waterford/St. Bernard junior Olivia Gionet. "Everyone put it together and did their best."

Ledyard/Waterford/St. Bernard was undefeated in the regular season, going 13-0 en route to the ECC championship.

"Everyone had to hit," said Ledyard/Waterford/St. Bernard coach Jacquelyn McLeod, who said her team had its best floor routine effort of the season. "I'm really proud of them, and it feels good to bring home the win again."

The State Open is Saturday, Feb. 28 at New Milford High School.
