LeBron James has been increasingly linked to the Indiana Pacers ever since the news dropped that James and Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton would be appearing at Fanatic Fest together.

On Thursday, James and Haliburton recorded a live episode of the Mind the Game podcast in New York City, with Haliburton filling in as a guest co-host in place of Steve Nash.

When fans caught wind of James and Haliburton teaming up, it seemed to make sense that maybe, just maybe, the two would announce James' new landing spot. And that landing spot, perhaps, could be the Pacers, because it would be perfect for James to announce the news alongside Haliburton.

Hard stop. James and Haliburton shared a hilarious story during the show that should quiet down the idea of James heading to Indiana.

Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton shares text message with LeBron James​

During the podcast, Haliburton revealed that he, like a lot of his NBA colleagues, sent a message to James trying to get him to come to the Pacers. The response is pretty hilarious.

"Tyrese Haliburton said he made a recruiting attempt to bring LeBron to Indiana, even before he let the Lakers know he would be leaving," ESPN NBA reporter Dave McMenamin shared on X.

LeBron's text back, Haliburton shared, was laughing face emojis.

"Haliburton said that was the end of his recruiting efforts," McMenamin's tweet added.

So, should Pacers fans go and sink their sorrows into a pint of ice cream over the exchange? Not yet. It's not over until it's over, and James' next team is still a question. Until he makes an official announcement about where he's going, the Pacers are still in the mix.
