NBA icon LeBron James is currently the center of attention in the NBA World, as the free agent observed multiple huge trades and signings during the start of free agency while keeping his options open.
The only thing certain at this point is that James will not return to the Los Angeles Lakers and is ready to start a new chapter in his career. The Fourth of July is a day of rest and reflection for many, and James recently revealed his plans.
LeBron James Goes Golfing On Fourth Of July While Exploring Free Agency Options
Considered a national holiday to many people in the United States, James is celebrating by enjoying one of his favorite hobbies: golfing. ESPN Cleveland posted James on their social media account, saying “LeBron James wishes everyone a Happy 4th from the golf course.” James said HAPPY 4TH you animals in his message, along with a selfie.
James’ agent, Rich Paul, revealed the current state of his free agent market, with 10 teams contacting Paul to express interest in signing James. Paul said that James’ main priority during free agency is finding a suitor that he’s genuinely excited to play for.
Paul mentioned the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Miami Heat, among other suitors.
He also offered insight into where things might have gone, saying James would have strongly considered signing with the New York Knicks if they had fallen short in the NBA Finals rather than winning the championship.
While the Cavs have been speculated as James’ next destination for months, much of the intrigue now centers on the Warriors, who were planning to make a run at James by also acquiring his good friend and championship teammate, Anthony Davis.
James and Davis would have joined Steph Curry and Draymond Green to make one final run at a championship.
However, with the Washington Wizards declining to make Davis available, it remains to be seen whether the Warriors have an alternative plan for James. The Warriors’ forced temporary regrouping has opened the door for another team to take over the rumors.

The 76ers are now considered the team to watch after shockingly acquiring All-NBA wing Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics. The 76ers now have a dynamic backcourt in Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, an All-NBA wing in Brown, and former MVP Joel Embiid anchoring the paint when healthy.
Paul mentioned James is highly intrigued by the possibility of joining the 76ers and playing with Maxey, whom he’s worked out with during the offseason. It’s clear James still has many variables to evaluate before making a decision. However, his immediate attention appears to be on making some putts on the golf course.
