The regular season is winding down for USC baseball. After a massive road victory over Oregon Thursday night, the Trojans have just two games remaining in the regular season, before heading to the Big Ten Tournament in Omaha next week.

Right now, USC is in a great position to make the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. But where would the Trojans play in the tournament, and who would they face?

This week, USA TODAY released its latest projected NCAA Tournament bracket. Currently, they have the Trojans as the No. 20 overall seed, and the No. 2 seed in the Oxford Regional. Also included in the region are top seed (No. 13 overall) and host Ole Miss, No. 3 seed East Carolina, and No. 4 seed Southeastern Louisiana.

The top 16 overall seeds get to host the regional round of the tournament. Hence, based on these projections, USC is four spots away from that line.

With strong performances against Oregon and at the Big Ten Tournament, the Trojans could potentially move up into one of the top 16 seeds. Given how much better USC has been at home than on the road this season, that would be massive for the team’s chances of making a deep tournament run.
