A year ago, Dan Bylsma was deep into his first year as the head coach of the Seattle Kraken after a wildly successful two years at the helm of the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Today Bylsma is in what he calls a "reset." After having been fired by the Kraken in April, Bylsma is focused on his next step during his time away from the game. For the time being, though, he and his wife are vacationing in the Coachella Valley and the former Firebirds coach took time to join host Judd Spicer on The Desert Sun's Fire & Ice Podcast brought to you by Desert Willow Golf Resort.

Bylsma talks about his time in the Coachella Valley, his thoughts about being fired less than a year into his tenure with the Kraken, and he even gets into some Olympic hockey, a particular area of expertise of his. It's a wide-ranging fascinating catch-up session with the Firebirds first-ever coach.
