NFL teams are done with their offseason programs and now await the start of training camp. While most rosters are mostly complete and the task of deciding who the final 53 will be for each team, there will be moves made. Players will be cut, traded or signed to contract extensions.

What moves still need to be made?

Aaron Schatz suggested a last-minute move for all teams.

Let's see what he believes the teams in the NFC West need to do.

Final Arizona Cardinals move - trade Josh Sweat

They have a chance to turn a player who had 12 sacks last season into a significant 2027 draft pick. A Sweat trade would help any number of playoff contenders.

While he has some trade value, he will likely have more value in season as the trade deadline approaches. Right now, as the only proven pass rusher off the edge, it doesn't make sense for the Cardinals to trade him. As bad as they might be, they are worse without him.

Final LA Rams move - extend OL Kevin Dotson

The Rams' starting guards are set to be free agents at the end of this season, and it would be a lot easier to find one new starting guard than it would be to find two. Given where the Rams are in their developmental cycle, it probably makes more sense to extend Dotson, who has better metrics than left guard Steve Avila.

Dotson is one of the best guards in the league. He will turn 30 this season. Since the Rams still have a championship window, it does make sense.

Final San Francisco 49ers move - clear up Brandon Aiyuk situation

Aiyuk is seemingly trying to goad the 49ers into cutting him, meanwhile the 49ers still hold out hope that they can get something in a trade. If Aiyuk leaves San Francisco, would he join his former Arizona State teammate Jayden Daniels in Washington? The Niners can put Aiyuk on various bureaucratic lists (did not report list, non-football injury list, etc.) to keep him off the field. Or he can force their hand by showing up for training camp and passing a physical. Somehow, this situation needs to end.

There is no question about this. Who knows why they haven't done anything yet?

Final Seattle Seahawks move - extend DL Leonard Williams

The Seahawks need to be careful here, because Williams will be 32 this season and there might be a decline coming soon. However, he's still playing at a high level, with seven sacks last season. He was named second-team All-Pro in 2025. According to ESPN Research, he has drawn a double-team on 66.6% of pass-rush snaps, fourth among all interior defensive linemen. Williams' contract voids in 2027, making him Seattle's biggest free agent for next offseason. Why not get him in for another couple of seasons right now?

They do have some youth on that defensive line, but if Williams is still dominating, it's a tough thing to let him go. From the perspective of the rest of the division, let that man go elsewhere. For the Seahawks, who want to maintain a championship window, it makes sense.
