"Drive My Car" is in a close race with "Birthday" and "Back in the USSR" for my most despised Beatles songs. For that reason alone I cannot lump Rubber Soul with other albums where every song is "solid."

As a musician you'd think I'd be a huge proponent of such a skilled, educated guitarist, but I find his playing to be in the cold, corporate Berklee style (that's what happen when you attend that school and actually graduate). I can't stand his whispery voice and his hooks are redundant. His songs are as interesting as stale movie popcorn.

I think the John Mayer Trio Live recording with Steve Jordan and Pino Paladino was very good.

And John Mayer is a douche but I do enjoy his music (even if some think it sounds like stale popcorn )
