After a slow start on the recruiting trail in his first full recruiting cycle as the coach at LSU, Lane Kiffin is starting to pick up some steam.
The Tigers' class still sits at just eight players, ranking outside the top 40 nationally. However, LSU's class has doubled in size over the last 48 hours, adding four new commitments on Sunday and Monday.
The headliner was four-star EDGE KJ Green, a top 100 player according to consensus rankings and a five-star who ranks in the top 10 per 247Sports' own rankings. He was joined by running back Brennen Lacy, athlete Markez Davis and receiver Cade Cooper, who became the latest commitment on Monday.
Cooper is the highest-ranked of those three players, sitting at No. 297 nationally per the 247Sports composite rankings. The Melvern, Pennsylvania, native is a top-10 prospect in his state.
LSU still has some work to do to land a class that's pushing for a top-10 spot, but with an average commit ranking that is the sixth-best mark nationally, it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility.
