Lampards revival rolls on with dramatic win over Pompey

Coventry City nicked a dramatic injury-time winner against Portsmouth to give their Championship play-off hopes a massive boost.

It was life-long Sky Blues fan Jamie Paterson who popped up in the 94th minute to bag the winner, firing Coventry back up to sixth and right in the thick of the play-off race with just five games to go.

Since Frank Lampard took over back in late November, the Sky Blues have been flying — no side in the Championship has won more games than them (14) in that time.

His first game at the helm was a 2-2 draw with Cardiff, and from there they’ve gone on to pick up 45 points in the league — only Burnley (52) and Leeds (50) have managed more over the same stretch.

And since the turn of the year, no one's won more league games than Coventry (11), with last night’s gritty win over Pompey seeing them draw level with Sheffield United on that front.
