With the 2025-2026 women's college basketball season in the books, players nationwide have been weighing their options and turning to the portal for new opportunities. That list includes Aaliyah Crump, who, after one year with the Longhorns, will be changing uniforms, according to On3. One of the most coveted recruits of the 2025 class is now looking to join a new program that will maximize her skills.

During her only season as a Longhorn, the Minnesota native averaged 7.9 points per game. She appeared in 24 games and missed the entire non-conference schedule with a foot injury. When she was healthy, Crump was one of the team’s most dangerous weapons from three-point range, where she shot 32 percent.

Although her time in Austin did not go as planned, Crump will have plenty of suitors. She was ranked as the No. 5 recruit in her class by ESPN. On the national stage, the Minnetonka High Alum showed why she was a special talent. She was part of the Team USA U16 squad that won gold at the FIBA Americas Championships in 2023.

While Crump will not be an easy player to replace, the Longhorns have other positions to fill. They also lost Aaliyah Moore and starter Justice Carlton to the portal. The hits don’t stop there, as Texas will no longer be able to rely on Rori Harmon, who will be graduating in just a few months. For Texas, the next few weeks will be busy as they try to build a championship roster.

Regardless of where Crump ends up, she has a bright future ahead. During her time in Austin, she made the most of her opportunities, averaging 17.4 minutes per game. If Crump can stay healthy, a big 2026-2027 campaign could be on the horizon.
