Kyrie Irving Previews New 'White Phantom' Colorway for the Kai 2 originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
As we all know, Kyrie was known for having one of the best performance-based shoes during his time with Nike. You rarely heard anyone complain about any Kyrie model from 1 through 8. Even though the 8s had a short stint before the Nike drama began, they received high praise from those who were able to get their hands on them.
Now that he’s with Anta, he has expanded his brand. He’s released both basketball and lifestyle shoes, many of which have sold out in stores and online. I’ve watched a couple of performance reviews on the Anta Kai line, and a lot of people seem genuinely impressed. There doesn’t appear to be much of a drop-off from the Nike era.
Just recently, Kyrie revealed the "White Phantom" colorway for his second shoe with Anta—and I’m a fan. I hadn’t paid much attention to the Kai line with Anta before, but these definitely caught my eye.

Looking at the Kai 2s and the colorways Kyrie wore during the season, I definitely understand the hype. Great color options, solid performance—it sounds like the typical Kyrie shoe experience.
If more players weren’t tied to major brands, I bet you’d see more people wearing the new Kyries.

The catch with these is that they glow in the dark. A basketball shoe that glows in the dark? That sounds like a dream come true for kids.
Once Anta fully breaks through in the sneaker world, you can bet Kai’s line will become one of the most-worn shoes across the league.
