Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray showed much composure in his postgame conference after the 23-20 Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. However, Murray’s courage at the podium exemplified a total contrast from his play on the field at State Farm Stadium.

Murray was sacked six times by the Seahawks, who intercepted him twice. Murray went 27 for 41 passing for 200 yards and two touchdowns on Thursday night in addition to the two picks, and while that may seem adequate, Murray is averaging just 4.7 yards per pass attempt this season.

Moreover, while Murray sits at No. 10 in the rankings for pass attempts, he simultaneously ranks at No. 23 in passing yards. The Cardinals rank No. 26 in total first downs per game, and the offense deserves the complete blame for the sole season loss and the close calls that ensued in their first two matchups. The atrocity that is the Cardinals offense must be addressed because fans are tired of head coach Jonathan Gannon defending Petzing with continuous pats on the back. Murray is entering the prime years of his career, and expectations have been set for him to produce at levels he continues to fall short of.

Ultimately, a 10-day rest was exactly what the team needed to recalibrate. Hopes are that Murray will find the motivation needed to produce on the field. The Cardinals will face the struggling Tennessee Titans on Oct 5th in Week 5.
