It has been a great season thus far for the New York Knicks as they try to make a run at a championship.

New York finished the regular season third in the Eastern Conference standings and they are just a victory away from making it past the Detroit Pistons and into the second round of the playoffs.

Despite this, New York may have a tough time if they are able to advance past Detroit as they will likely face the defending champion Boston Celtics in the second round.

While that may be the case, there is no doubt that the Knicks have enough star talent thanks to their core of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart.

“Minnesota (Timberwolves), New York, Miami (Heat) and San Antonio (Spurs) rank as the most frequently cited potential Kevin Durant suitors,” Stein wrote. “League sources, in particular, have been pinpointing the Timberwolves and Knicks depending on how their postseasons play out.”

Of course, the Knicks have been interested in Durant multiple times throughout his career and if they are unable to make a deep playoff run this season, they could go out and trade for him this summer.

For this to happen, the Knicks would have to include one of either Anunoby or Bridges to come close in salaries along with other players and draft capital.

If they are able to pull off a trade for Durant, a new big three of him, Brunson and Towns would be a deadly one as long as New York can build a solid supporting cast around them.
