KINGSBURG, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Kingsburg senior right-handed pitcher Jensen Hirschkorn is committed to LSU. The six-foot-seven hurler could have a difficult decision to make this summer. He’s also a Top-30 MLB prospect ahead of the draft in July.

“I’m more 50/50 right now. Really seeing how the spring plays out and just kind of have fun this high school season, do my thing out here see how it all plays out. I’ll decide when the time comes” said Hirschkorn.

Jensen decided to commit to Louisiana State University in October 2025. The Tigers are eight-time NCAA Champions and recently won in 2025 and 2023.

The Kingsburg senior narrowed down his top three schools to Arkansas, LSU, and Texas A&M. He knew he wanted to play with the some of the best teams in the SEC.

“I just want to compete at the highest level with the best players in the SEC. It will be a really good developing piece for me and it will be fun” said Hirschkorn.

Kingsburg head baseball coach Jim Cranford shared that Jensen is the best he’s coached in four years at the helm of the Vikings’ program.

Any team will be getting another dominant pitcher like Paul Skenes and guys like that. There is no river too deep for him to cross. He’s going to be fine wherever he goes” said Cranford.

Jensen is the son of longtime Fresno Pacific head baseball coach Oscar Hirschkorn.
