The 8-4 Buffalo Bills welcome the 4-8 Cincinnati Bengals to Orchard Park this Sunday as 5.5-point favorites. After losses to the Texans and Dolphins over the last four weeks, and a current 7th seed in the playoffs, there is reason to worry in Orchard Park. The good news is they have a winnable game at home this week, though it will be tougher now that the Bengals have Joe Burrow back in the fold.
The Bills might get TE Dalton Kincaid back this week, which would help a flailing passing game, but it would also be nice to get some consistency out of their de facto WR1, Khalil Shakir.
Below, we’ll go over Khalil Shakir’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 14.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bills, WR, Khalil Shakir
Shakir has shown great upside, but also great downside this season. For an example, just look at his last three games where he finished WR104, WR17, and WR98. He’s finished as WR32 or better in 5-of-11 games this season and has never finished higher than WR15 in PPR fantasy. That being said, he’s in a good matchup and should be the top wide receiver target on a team with Josh Allen throwing the ball.
This offense is best when James Cook and Josh Allen are running the ball, but they need to get their passing game going and Randy Moss isn’t walking through that door. He is a priority, but if he isn’t open, Allen isn’t throwing him the ball. The Bengals have been surprisingly good at stopping wide receivers, but they are better against outside receivers than slot receivers. Shakir should be able to work underneath and beat the Bengals as long as he’s getting targets.
He’s risky, but I can’t see sitting him despite his inconsistencies.
