Kevin Durant has been accused of operating a burner account on X to criticize both current and former teammates, although the claims remain unverified.
Leaked screenshots circulating online purport to show messages from an anonymous profile allegedly connected to the Houston Rockets forward.
There has been no confirmation that the account belongs to Durant, and the authenticity of the images has not been independently verified.

Leaked screenshots trigger widespread reaction
The account, reported to be using the handle @gethigher77, has been linked by social media users to Durant following the release of alleged private messages criticizing NBA players associated with him.
The screenshots quickly gained traction across online platforms. One of the alleged messages references Rockets teammate Jabari Smith Jr.
The post reads, “I can’t trust Jabari to make a f—– shot or get a stop.”
Additional screenshots circulating online mention Alperen Sengun and former teammates, including Devin Booker, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons.
In one alleged exchange, Booker was criticised in strong terms, while another message stated, “I swear I miss Ben Simmons. Least that —– would give me the ball.”
Despite the viral nature of the claims, no direct proof has emerged confirming Durant’s involvement. The account has not been officially verified as his.
Past burner admissions add further scrutiny
The renewed attention stems partly from Durant’s documented history with anonymous accounts. In 2017, he inadvertently posted from his verified account in a manner that revealed he had been defending himself using a separate profile.
He later acknowledged the practice publicly. In 2020, Durant said, “I still have burners that I use for sure.”
Durant also discussed his approach to social media on The Pivot podcast, explaining, “I don’t want to build up all this hate towards media or fans. So I just say what I feel in the moment.”
Those prior admissions have intensified speculation surrounding the current allegations. However, at present, there is no confirmed link between Durant and the account in question.
Unless further evidence surfaces, the matter remains based on unverified screenshots circulating online. Durant has not publicly stated that the account belongs to him.
