For the second straight year, and fourth time in the last six years, Marte landed at No. 1 on the list at the position, reflecting his consistent production and importance to the Arizona Diamondbacks. A blend of versatility and impact, Marte has long been known as a power-hitting switch-hitter capable of turning a game around in an instant.
Even in a “down” year compared to his MVP-caliber 2024 season, Marte produced a .283 batting average with 28 home runs, 72 RBIs and an .893 OPS.

Marte’s presence in the infield and near the top of the lineup allows the Diamondbacks to build around him and grow a core of elite talent to complement his skill set. In a division where every win matters and competition is at its highest, reliability is critical — something Marte has consistently provided.
The shift from evaluating second basemen solely by batting average or stolen bases to overall impact and adaptability highlights a broader change in how the position is viewed across the league. Marte’s ability to influence games in multiple ways has become the modern model.

For Arizona’s faithful, seeing one of their top players recognized once again as the best at his position is validation of what they have long believed. While the accolades may continue to grow, Marte’s steady excellence remains the foundation.
In an ever-changing league, Marte’s back-to-back years at No. 1 serve as a clear reminder that consistency still earns a place at the top.
