The Kentucky Wildcats will travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. Game time is set for 12:00 PM ET on ESPN. Kentucky is a 5.5-point underdog.

The Cats are now 9-4 on the season after winning four straight games. North Carolina Central and Bellarmine weren’t much to write home about, but the wins over Indiana and St. John’s were certainly a step in the right direction.

Kentucky is getting healthy, and that should be a scary thought for college basketball. Jayden Quaintance and Jaland Lowe (albeit, who knows for how long) are back in full force. And Otega Oweh has regained his form. Quaintance has looked the part of a future NBA superstar, and Lowe is clearly the most important piece. Oweh finally decided to actually start playing along with them. And Kam Williams looks like a game-changer.

As for the Crimson Tide, it’s about time we found out whether or not Nate Oats is Mark Pope’s kryptonite. The Tide are 10-3 with wins over St. John’s, Illinois, Maryland, and Clemson, and losses to Purdue, Gonzaga, and Arizona.

Last season, Oats slowly dominated Pope into submission. As many UK fans clamored for Oats to become the next head coach in Lexington, he won at UK by five, at Bama by 13, then by 29 points in an embarrassing performance in the SEC Tournament.

Kentucky needs this win badly to keep vibes at a high level and for Pope to show that he was the right choice for the job.
