Mark Pope is working hard to put together his best recruiting class yet for the Kentucky Wildcats in 2027. He already has one top 25 player in the fold, and is working to land a few others. He has also begun to look ahead to 2028 and beyond. Not a lot of offers have been extended to those classes, but one of the few has been issued to Benjamin "Benji" Berrouet.
Berrouet is a 6'7", 240 lb power forward out of Texas. He is rated four stars by 247Sports and is ranked as their No. 22 overall player in the 2027 class, though some services have him even higher. He could vault into five-star range with his skillset.
The scholarship offer for Berrouet came on Tuesday, and was announced by him on social media. Kentucky becomes one of over 20 schools to have already offered the talented forward, with more sure to follow. Home state schools like Houston and the Texas Longhorns are early favorites, but other programs will certainly make their pitches.
Berrouet is currently playing on the Nike EYBL U16 circuit, and is performing very well. He's posting averages of 24.5 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. A college decision won't be made anytime soon, but it's clear from the early offer that Pope is very interested in getting him to Lexington. It will be a recruitment to watch over the next few years, and we'll keep you updated.

After a talk with Coach Pope, I am blessed to receive a Division 1 offer from Kentucky. #AGTGpic.twitter.com/KHDf1cpUmP
