Kentucky football's front office seemed to be in unanticipated flux earlier in the week when general manager Pat Biondo stepped down from his post.
Biondo cited personal reasons for the decision. The Wildcats acted swiftly to replace Biondo by elevating Pete Nochta to interim football general manager after he was named assistant GM back in January.
Biondo and Nochta appeared to be favorites of new Wildcats football coach Will Stein, who was hired last December. Biondo and Stein worked together at Oregon, while Stein was intent on bringing Nochta in away from his previous post at Louisville.
Stein and Nochta will look to improve a Kentucky football program that finished 2-6 in the SEC a year ago.

Makes sense. Pete Nochta was previously the Assistant GM. https://t.co/n929nJ1UEj
