The New York Knicks lead the Boston Celtics 3-1 in their second-round series, and after Jayson Tatum had to be wheeled off the court with what looked like a devastating leg injury, Boston fans are bracing for the worst.
The Knicks, it would seem, will meet the Indiana Pacers (who also lead 3-1) in the Conference Finals, and either way, a long Finals drought will be snapped.
However, one former player thinks the Knicks can make a lot of noise.

"The Knicks, after they closed this series out, they're going to the NBA Finals," claimed Kendrick Perkins. "I think Indiana is going to push them to seven games...I'm taking a step further. I wouldn't be surprised if they win it all, to be honest with you."
While the Knicks have looked solid, the Pacers are no slouch, and any Western Conference team, especially the Oklahoma City Thunder or Denver Nuggets, will give the Knicks their biggest challenge of the year.
Perkins' cohosts quickly shut down his proclamation.
"Hold on," said Molly Qerim, "I got to pump the brakes on that. Here's why I want to pump the brakes, just to you specifically, because you are so, so high on OKC."
Perkins has long been touting the Thunder as the best team in the NBA, and after their dominating regular season, it's hard to argue with that. However, the Knicks, compared to OKC at least, have cruised through the postseason and are poised to have plenty of rest before the Conference Finals kick off.
