Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell and Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson were named WNBA Players of the Month for July, the league announced Wednesday.
Mitchell won the WNBA Eastern Conference award after averaging 27.2 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Wilson took the Western Conference award at 28.3 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks.
Wilson's scoring average led the league for the month, and her rebounding average ranked third. The award is the 16th of her career, a league record, and her third of 2026 after winning in May and June.
Across nine games in July, Las Vegas went 6-3. Wilson played seven of them and missed two with a leg injury.
Indiana finished the month 8-2, with losses at Los Angeles on July 8 and at home to Golden State on July 15.
On July 12 in Las Vegas, Mitchell scored 27 points with 3 rebounds and 3 assists in a 109-75 win, shooting 8-of-16 from the field, 3-of-8 from 3-point range, and 8-of-8 at the line. It was her 38th consecutive game in double figures, one past the franchise record of 37 that Tamika Catchings set in 2004. Mitchell finished that night with 729 career 3-pointers, moving her past former Fever guard Katie Douglas for seventh on the WNBA's all-time list.
Two days later, the league named Mitchell the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 8. She had scored 112 points over four road games, averaging 28.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists, and she reached 25 points in each of the four. Mitchell and Catchings, who won 22, are the only Fever players with five or more Player of the Week awards.
Indiana closed July on the road. Mitchell scored 28 points with 2 rebounds and 2 assists in a 105-95 win at Seattle on July 28, making 4 3-pointers in her 12th straight game with at least 20 points. The Fever beat Portland 112-98 on July 31.
Mitchell is in her ninth WNBA season. Indiana drafted her second overall out of Ohio State in 2018. Last season she averaged a career-high 20.2 points, made the All-WNBA First Team for the first time, and finished fifth in MVP voting.
Wilson is a four-time MVP, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, and a two-time Finals MVP. She was voted a starter for the 2026 All-Star Game in Chicago, her eighth All-Star selection. Her May and June honors were the 14th and 15th monthly awards of her career.
On Tuesday, Wilson was named Western Conference Player of the Week for Week 10, the 31st such award of her career. Caitlin Clark won the Eastern Conference award for the same week. Clark was the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for June.
Entering Thursday, Las Vegas is 21-9 and second in the Western Conference behind Minnesota, which is 25-6. The Aces beat Atlanta 109-87 on Monday. Indiana is 19-11 and first in the Eastern Conference, a half-game ahead of Atlanta.
The teams meet Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with tip-off set for 7 p.m. ET. Indiana won both earlier meetings this season, 84-68 on July 5 and 109-75 on July 12.
