It has yet to be announced what team will participate in this offseason's edition of Hard Knocks, but the New Orleans Saints are on the shortlist of teams who the NFL can't force to participate. After being eligible for the past two season under Dennis Allen, New Orleans is exempt during Kellen Moore's debut season.

If no team steps up and claims the spot, the NFL can force a team to be part of the show. Having a first-year head coach is one of the three circumstances that keeps teams ineligible from the pressures of the NFL. The other two circumstances are being featured on Hard Knocks in the last eight years or been a part of the new, in-season Hard Knocks focusing on divisions. There used to be an exemption for being a playoff team in the previous two seasons, but that was taken away this year.

The Saints have never been featured on Hard Knocks, and that streak won't be broken in 2025 unless they volunteer for the show. This seems unlikely. As a first time head coach, a camera in your face while you're trying to gather your process isn't an ideal situation.

Many teams prefer to keep the behind closed doors aspects of the day-to-day behind closed doors. That concern is only increased when adding a coach going into his first year into the mix. The NFL isn't ignorant of this, which is likely why it is featured as one of the rules that allows teams to opt out.
