An interesting tidbit from The Athletic's story this week on "What it’s like to be traded in the NFL": When Von Miller was called to GM George Paton's office....
Eh, Murray still would've pooped in the bed.
The trade happened right after the Cardinals' loss to Green Bay on MNF. Imagine if Von Miller being on the Cardinals instead of the Rams had enabled the Cardinals to win an extra game, flip positions in the standings with the Rams, and host them in the Wild Card game?“And then he just got right into it. He’s like, ‘Well, I just wanted to let you know that we’re trading you to the Los Angeles Rams.’ He said it with a normal cadence, but it felt so slow when he said it. That ‘to’ felt like five minutes. ‘We are trading you tooooooo the Los Angeles Rams.’
“I was like, ‘Los Angeles Rams?’”
“He was like, ‘Is that not what you like? Do you want to go somewhere else? We talked to the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills, and I felt like the Los Angeles Rams were a good fit for you. If you don’t want to go there, let me know.’ …
Eh, Murray still would've pooped in the bed.
