LAKELAND, FL – The Detroit Tigers optioned one player to Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday, March 4, in the third round of spring training roster cuts, leaving 58 players remaining in MLB camp (not including two players on the 60-day injured list).

There are 22 days until Opening Day on March 26.

The one player: right-hander Keider Montero, who was the third healthy cut of spring camp after fellow pitchers Ty Madden and Dylan Smith were sent down in Sunday's second round of moves.

Montero will serve as a starter in Triple-A Toledo.

He will provide rotation depth for the Tigers in the 2026 season, just like he did in 2024 and 2025.
